More climate protection through resource-saving plant pots.

Circular360 products enable a product life cycle that never ends. From production and use through to disposal and recycling, this product line focuses on climate protection and resource conservation in line with the PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative. This has already enabled us to completely close the material cycle for these plant pots.

For production, we use almost exclusively material from household recycling collections or other products that have already been used once. This results in a PCR plastic content of at least 80 % of the total product. This has been scientifically proven by the "Blue Angel" and "RecyClass" seals of approval. The products are also proven to be 100% recyclable. This is proven by the cyclos-HTP certificate for this product category.

Baseline is our new resource-saving alternative to black plant pots, which cannot be recycled in conventional recycling systems. This product category provides an easy introduction to the circular economy. The Baseline products consist mainly of PCR and PIR. As with Circular360, we almost completely dispense with the use of new goods.

When disposed of via the Dual System, Baseline pots are

100% recyclable. This was confirmed by the cyclos-HTP Institute. The material can therefore remain in the cycle and is available as a raw material for new PCR products.

Depending on the requirements and functionality in practice, these are manufactured from virgin material and/or recycled material.

Other product categories:

In this category of the Pöppelmann TEKU® range, plant pots, transport and cultivation trays as well as young plant trays are manufactured from PIR material and/or virgin material. This product line therefore makes no significant contribution to conserving resources.

In addition, the plastic from these products is generally not recycled when disposed of via the Dual System, but is instead thermally utilised. It is therefore not available for reuse in the material cycle. Due to upcoming regulatory changes and in order to conserve resources, we therefore recommend that our customers switch to alternative product categories.

The Pöppelmann company is honoured and certified.

SBTi

The independent Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validated our climate targets in October 2023, confirming that they are in line with the 1.5 degree target of the Paris Climate Agreement. We are already actively working on many measures to achieve our goals.

We contribute to the reduction of our Scope 2 emissions by, among other things through the addition of photovoltaic systems on company-owned buildings (6,000 kWp by the end of 2024).

To reduce Scope 3 emissions, our biggest driver is the circular economy, as we reduce emissions from "Purchased Goods and Services" through the use of recycled materials on the one hand, and emissions from "End-of-Life of Products" through recycling-friendly design on the other.

Climate protection company

In March 2023, Federal Environment Minister Steffi Lemke honoured us as a climate protection company for the consistent focus of our corporate strategy on climate protection and the circular economy. Since 2009, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce have been recognising companies for their ambitious climate protection targets and efforts in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies with this award.

The award is linked to inclusion in the Vorreiter-Initiative Klimaschutz-Unternehmen e. V. (Pioneer Initiative for Climate Protection Companies). This is an association of companies in Germany that play a pioneering role in climate protection and energy efficiency through the consistent implementation of outstanding innovations. They are characterised by ambitious targets for climate protection and energy efficiency, which are regularly analysed and reviewed; the continuous improvement of energy-efficient production methods and internal company processes; future-oriented business models through innovative products and services that contribute to climate protection as well as active knowledge transfer through the provision of tried-and-tested climate protection solutions

Award-winning and certified: our Circular360 products.

TEKU® plant pots from the PÖPPELMANN blue® initiative are certified with the Blue Angel for the use of recycled plastic (more than 80% post-consumer recyclate).

Thanks to a proportion of at least 80% post-consumer recyclate, our Circular360 products are now also certified by RecyClass.

Cyclos-certified TEKU® products are proven to be 100% recyclable via the German Dual System (DSD) and comparable European household recycling collections.
