Why reusable plastic cups? Paper bags are already sustainable. Or are they not?
Particularly in the restaurant and catering sector, the proportion of reusable solutions is very low (less than 1% by June 2023, according to the WWF fact sheet on reusable packaging). Unfortunately, this is in favour of single-use paper/cardboard packaging, which ends up in residual waste after use and therefore cannot be recycled.
Our lightweight reusable plastic cups could be a solution to increase the proportion in the catering sector. The number of times reusable packaging is used has a major impact on the environmental benefits of a reusable system - the more material intensive and heavier the packaging, the more important it is to have a high number of uses (source: ifeu).
This means that lightweight reusable plastic packaging is an environmentally sound solution in these areas.
